Report claims JIT can cut CO2 emissions by 14%

Containerships can reduce fuel consumption and resulting carbon dioxide emissions by 14% on a per voyage basis using JIT arrival, according to a new study, commissioned by the IMO-Norway GreenVoyage2050’s Global Industry Alliance. 

The JIT study found that there were benefits from optimising speed even over the shorter 24 hour and 12 hour scenarios
