Artemis goes back to Lloyd
Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven will upgrade the 44,588 gt cruise ship Artemis (ex Royal Princess) for the third time in April prior to her last season for P&O Cruises and handover to Artania Shipping in 2011.
The work will take 11 days and end mid April, the yard said. German reports said repairs, pipe work as well as maintenance to the propulsion system, stabilisers and bow thrusters would also be carried out.
The 26-year-old Finnish-built Artemis was last at B+V in November 2007 for overhaul and also underwent refurbishment there in Spring 2005. After her final season with P&O she will undergo another five week refurbishment from May 2011, apparently also at LWB, and emerge as Artania.
