New Railship For Sicilian Link

Despite the continual waxing and waning of the plan for a bridge across the Strait of Messina, reinvestment in the train ferry connection has gained momentum. November’s delivery of the 147m newbuild Iginia, modelled closely on a vessel completed in 2013 to serve the link between the southern tip of the Italian mainland and Sicily, has been followed by a contract for a third ship.
