Fuel additives play a central – and verifiable – role in improving efficiency and reducing emissions, Aderco’s Managing Director Scott Herring will tell the 2026 Propulsion & Future Fuel Conference.
Speaking in the opening day’s late afternoon session, Power in Sync: Connecting Hull, Energy, Fuel Efficiency and Propulsion Performance for Greater Efficiency, Herring will make the case for renewable and sustainable plant-based fuel treatments that support decarbonization, not least Aderco’s flagship emissions monitoring and carbon credit programme 2055G+.
Aderco has been producing fuel treatment solutions to help improve fuel efficiency and operational reliability for over 40 years, and says 2055G+ is an end-to-end efficiency and monetisation programme designed to help shipowners, managers and charterers meet strict environmental regulations such as the IMO’s CII and EU ETS.
Herring, who joined Aderco in 2022 having entered the maritime sector in 2010, has previously highlighted 2055G+’s data transparency, as it is audited independently to provide ship operators with credible, certified ROI.
The session will also explore how hull design, lubrication, drivetrain optimisation, electrification and battery integration can combine to improve vessel performance and operational flexibility, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Herring will be joined by moderator Markus Münz, the Managing Director of VDMA Large Engines, Kathleen Elward, VP Commercial Operations at Silverstream Technologies, and Diego Pauluzzi, Technology & Innovation Manager at Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore Italy and Monaco.
