Originally Wan Hai had ordered 12 ships last year, comprising six 1,805 TEU and six 4,252 TEU sizes. This has now been changed to four 1,805 TEU, four 1,000 TEU, and six 4,500 TEU types at a total cost of $639 million. The delivery dates of the originally ordered 12 ships were delayed by 16 to 18 months due to market recession, agreed by CSBC.
Taiwan owner firms up CSBC orders
Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines confirms its order for 14 boxships from compatriot shipbuilder CSBC which are scheduled to be delivered from late 2011 onwards.
