IMO’s life cycle GHG emissions guidelines expected in December

Draft lifecycle GHG and carbon intensity guidelines for marine fuels are intended to be finalised at MEPC 79 in December 2022.

The IMO’s Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG 11) met 14-18 March, noting the urgency of the development of draft lifecycle GHG and carbon intensity guidelines for marine fuels and therefore decided to aim to finalise draft guidelines at MEPC 79 (12-16 December).
