Massterly explores shipping’s automated future
Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) this week exhibited the vessel command workstation which will be used with autonomous vessel Yara Birkeland, due to enter operation in 2020. The virtual bridge, based at WSM’s Oslo headquarters and developed under the WSM-Kongsberg “Massterly” joint-venture, can be used to support as many as 6 vessels with only a single operator.
