DNV GL awards new fire safety notation to Gulsun series

Speaking at a press conference in London yesterday, DNV GL – Maritime ceo Knut Orbeck-Nilssen announced that class society DNV GL had updated its class rules and launched a voluntary ‘FCS’ notation for container vessels.

MSC is trialling a new thermal camera based fire detection system aboard the MSC Febe, a sistership of the MSC Gulsun (pictured).
