IMO agrees draft amendments to survey requirements

The 8th session of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Construction (SDC 8) was held from 17 to 21 January, and DNV has reported on the outcomes including agreement on draft amendments to the 2011 International code on the enhanced programme of inspections during surveys of bulk carriers and oil tankers (ESP Code) to enhance consistent implementation of survey requirements.

The draft amendments are subject to consideration and approval by the Maritime Safety Committee.
