INTERTANKO welcomes idea of charterers as responsible parties in the EU ETS

The International Association of Independent Tanker Owners, INTERTANKO, has voiced its support of a recent proposal which advocates the inclusion of charterers as responsible parties in the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

A European Parliamentary rapporteur, Peter Liese, has submitted a proposed change to the European Commission’s ETS Directive.
