Inventor of the Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet wins Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering

The 2022 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering has been awarded to Dr Masato Sagawa for the discovery, development and global commercialization of the world’s most powerful permanent magnet.

Dr Sagawa is currently working as a consultant with Daido Steel to commercialise a material with higher magnetic density.
