Fredericia sells floating dock to Turkey
Fredericia Shipyard in Denmark has sold its Panama floating dock to a Turkish buyer and is currently being towed to Yalova in Turkey on a 30-day voyage with an average speed of 5 to 6 knots.
“It was an unexpectedly early sale of the dock. The sale of this particular dock speeds up the shipyard’s plans to move to former Odense Steel Shipyards facilities in Lindo. The original plan was to start at 1 January, 2011, but now we started shortly after this floating dock had been towed away”, says Thomas Andersen, owner of Fredericia Shipyard.
The floating dock has been in the hands of Fredericia since 1991, when it was purchased in Bremerhaven. After the move to the Lindo shipyard, Fredericia Shipyard will change its name to Fayard.
