Model of new Panama Canal dredger unveiled
The Panama Canal Authority (ACP), which operates and maintains the Panama Canal, recently unveiled a model of the D’Artagnan dredger during a ceremony at the canal’s Miraflores visitor Centre.
The
D’Artagnan
is thought to be the world’s most powerful self-propelled heavy duty cutter suction dredger, with its capability for cutting rocks and sand dredging. Owned by Belgian company Dredging International (part of the DEME group), the new vessel will be used in the expansion of the Panama Canal.
