Correction – ‘Maersk Miami’

In the September 2010 issue of ‘The Motorship’ we published a story on the recent repairs undertaken to the containership ‘Maersk Miami’, owned by Germany’s Reederei Blue Star GmbH, by Bahrain’s ASRY, with information supplied by the shipyard.

In this article it was stated that the engine room fire was caused “following a fire in the fuel line to one of the vessel’s diesel generators”. It was also stated that “drawings for the ship’s electrical cabling could not be found so the yard had to work blind.” ASRY has informed us that both of these statements were unfounded and untrue.

ASRY would like to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly to Reederei Blue Star GmbH for any embarrassment and negative attention caused by this article.
