Bangladesh delivers newbuildings to Germany

Western Marine Shipyard in Chittagong has delivered a pair of the largest vessels ever built in Bangladesh to a German shipowner.

Named

Grona Ammersum

and

Grona Biessum,

both are 100m long, 5,200 dwt ice class multi-purpose dry cargo carriers built

and

classed by Germanischer Lloyd. These newbuildings are the first two in a series of 12 ships ordered by Grona Shipping GmbH based in Leer, Germany at a cost of Tk 80 crore each ($11.36 million).
