Two more Jurong-built jackups for Noble

Sembcorp Marine’s subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has announced two new contracts worth a total of $427.6 million to build two jackup rigs for a subsidiary of Noble Corporation, under options granted in December 2010.

Scheduled for delivery in the third quarter 2013 and first quarter 2014 respectively, the yard says that these two new turnkey units will be built based on the same design and specification as two earlier Friede & Goldman JU3000N units ordered by Noble. These rigs will be suitable for operations in challenging environments and harsh conditions, including high temperature areas such as the Middle East and in the North Sea.
