Countdown for start-up of new repair yards

Construction work is well underway on two major new Middle East shiprepair facilities. The new ship repair facility at Oman Drydock, which occupies a 1.2 million m2 site, will become operational in December 2010. Oman Drydock Company is a joint venture between Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering and the Omani government that will form a key element of a new industrial zone in the Duqm area.
