Gas turbines ordered for fourth LCS

GE Marine reports that it will provide Austal USA with two LM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines to power the United States Navy’s fourth LCS-Class-Independence variant.

GE’s LM2500, the standard power unit for the US LCS ships (though the Lockheed Martin design uses the Rolls-Royce MT30)
