Ship-to-ship green methanol bunkering of a bulk carrier at Ulsan Port

The Ulsan Port Authority has successfully completed Korea’s first-ever methanol bunkering for a dual-fuel bulk carrier, marking a major milestone in the nation’s transition to sustainable maritime fuel solutions

The operation took place on 28 September 2025 at Ulsan Port and involved the Green Future, a methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier chartered by NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers from Kambara Kisen Co.

The fuel used was green methanol and the transfer was conducted through ship-to-ship bunkering at Ulsan New Port’s Southern Breakwater T/S Pier.
