Norled opts for Ballard fuel cell for first hydrogen ferry

Norled, the Norwegian ferry operator, has selected Ballard Power Systems to supply fuel cell modules to a hybrid ferry. Ballard will provide two next-generation 200 kilowatt (kW) modules for the hybrid ferry, which is expected to be the first liquid hydrogen fuel cell-powered ferry in commercial operation globally when it enters service in 2021.
