‘Maersk Lancer’ gets anti-glare treatment

South Shields based Solar Solve Marine recently received an order from LV Shipping & Transport to measure, supply and install 15 of its ‘Solasafe’ anti-glare, heat rejecting roller screens to some of the wheelhouse windows on Maersk Lancer.

‘Maersk Lancer’ at LV’s Teesside facility

This German built anchor handling tug supply vessel, owned by Maersk Supply Services AS, was berthed at LV’s Teesside facility when they decided to install screens to improve environmental conditions for the personnel on the bridge and create safer working conditions during operations. The team at Solar Solve were contacted and the whole job was completed within 3 working days to meet the vessels departure deadline.

Maersk Lancer

, delivered in May this year by Volkswerft Stralsund, is 90m long, 24m beam, 9.5m deep and is powered by four diesels with a total output of 17,260kW giving a transit speed of 16.7 knots.
