Scana signs Rolls-Royce supply agreement
Scana Industrier, through its subsidiaries Scana Steel Björneborg, Scana Steel Söderfors and Scana Machining, has signed a three years supply agreement with Rolls-Royce Marine, making Scana a key supplier to Rolls-Royce.
The agreement includes supply of forgings for CP and FP propellers and shaft lines during 2012-2014. Scana will also provide installation of piping, liner, composite and welded cladding. The agreement covers the supply of propeller shafts and intermediate shafts for different types of vessels. The scope of work includes all machining activities beyond previous supply of forgings for Rolls-Royce. The value of the contract is said to be about 75 million SEK anually.
The Norwegian Scana group has a long history as a supplier to Rolls-Royce, and sees this long term cooperation and the new supply agreement as recognition that it is a world class supplier to the marine industry. “This contract fits our strategy to become a partner to our customers and an integrated part of their value chain,” said Rolf Roverud, CEO Scana Industrier.
