UASC chooses Marorka for energy management
Icelandic energy management firm Marorka has won a contract to deliver ship performance monitoring systems to United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), with a view to optimizing fleet performance and reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The contract follows trials undertaken with Marorka systems on two UASC vessels and will see the energy management solutions deployed across the existing fleet and on newbuilds. Wallee Al Dawood, chief operating officer, UASC noted that the Marorka Wallboard had delivered “verifiable fuel savings and significant eco-efficiency benefits, as well as greater transparency”.
Ole Skatka Jensen, chief executive officer, Marorka added: “The partnership between UASC and Marorka will ensure that UASC has the most advanced energy management solution available for its entire fleet, and that the fleet is operated in the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly way.”
UASC is present in more than 75 countries around the world. It covers over 200 ports and destinations worldwide and offers containerized and conventional cargo transportation, temperature-controlled cargo and value-added services to a diverse global client base.
