Universal bending machine designed for shipbuilding industry

According to Swiss company Stierli Bieger, many bending functions encountered in shipyards require machines that are operator friendly and efficient, and can be installed quickly at low cost to perform various different operations.

The company’s new 300 tonne pressure frame bending machine has an operating range as follows:

  • profiles up to 340mm,
  • steel T-bar up to 400mm x 200mm,
  • angles up to 200mm x 200mm, and
  • pipes up to G 3in

The machine also can be used for straightening or re-straightening of formed or bent pipes.

The company says that its customers find that the machine’s simple and quick tool changing system assists production, and hence profitability. The machine’s vertically-open form of construction allows it to be loaded simply. Each rotator control can be individually selected. With the maker’s established shutdown system, operating under NC or CNC- control, the machine can be installed according to customer requirements

Stierli Bieger manufactures frame-bending machines, welding and rotating equipment, roll out racks, horizontal bending machines from 8.5 tonne to 800 tonnes capacity, and CNC controlled two-axis machines.
