Damen close to completing dual-fuel conversion

Shipbuilder and repairer Damen has nearly completed the conversion of a dredger to dual-fuel LNG and MGO capability, launching the Samuel de Champlain from its Dunkerque facility on 27 February. The conversion will be the first of its kind in Europe.

The Samuel de Champlain is the largest vessel within the Dragages-Ports dredger group, which is half-owned by the French state, and half-owned by a consortium of seven French commercial ports
