Indian GSM clarifies single-use plastic restrictions

The Indian Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) has issued a clarification around the implementation of Order No.05 of 2019, which prohibits the use of single-use plastic items onboard ships. Cargo ships calling at Indian ports or places must draw up and maintain an inventory of all single-use plastic items onboard by the end of January.

The Indian GSM announced requirements for ship operators of cargo vessels to draw up an inventory of single-use plastics for vessels calling at Indian ports by 31 January 2020.
