SPAIN ENDORSES MEDITERRANEAN ECA

Speaking at a conference held in Madrid on 18 March, a Spanish ministerial representative announced that the Iberian country would support an application to introduce an emission control area (ECA) to limit sulphur oxides (SOx) from ships in the Mediterranean Sea.

There are currently four designated SOx-ECAs worldwide.
