Japan’s Steel Industry Backs Coastal Mode

Japan’s coastwise trading fleet has been augmented by a dedicated ro-ro steel carrier, the 115m JFE Hakuryu. Commissioned by Senba Kaiun of Tokushima, the 5,040dwt newbuild will serve one of the country’s premier steelmakers, JFE, transporting products from the group’s mills to volume customers.
