First air lubrication installation on Vale newbuild VLOC

Vale has taken delivery of what it claims is the worlds first VLOC newbuild to be equipped with an air lubrication system. The Silverstream® System, supplied by UK clean technology supplier Silverstream Technologies, was successfully installed aboard the Vale-chartered newbuild ore carrier Sea Victoria, the company confirmed.

The Vale-chartered 324,300dwt Sea Victoria is the first VLOC to be equipped with air lubrication equipment.
