Maersk inks order with Hyundai Mipo for first DF methanol-fuelled feeder

A.P. Moller-Maersk has agreed a contract with Hyundai Mipo Dockyards for a 2,100 teu container feeder newbuilding. The dual-fuel newbuilding will be powered by a MAN B&W ME-LGIM engine capable of operating on either methanol or VLSFO, the ship owner confirmed.

The 2,100 teu newbuilding will join 3,596 teu Vistula Maersk (pictured) in service in Maersk-owned Sealand Europe’s feeder connection between Northern Europe and Gulf of Bothnia ports.
