Of the many shipping companies moving towards a sustainable future, few can match the commitment of tanker operator Terntank Rederi A/S – an enviable position which will be outlined by CEO Jens P. Buchhave at the Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference.
With pioneering investments in hybrid vessels, methanol-ready technology, wind-assisted propulsion and biofuel transportation, Terntank continues to demonstrate how practical decarbonisation can be implemented in commercial shipping today.
Earlier this year Terntank celebrated the naming of the M/T Tern Dal following installation of its wind-assisted sail system. Also equipped with a methanol-ready engine, hybrid battery pack and shore power connection, the vessel is the third in Terntank’s five-ship Hybrid Solution Plus series, with the fourth and fifth scheduled for delivery in 2027.
Buchhave, whose focus is on the commercial and operational development of the company’s tanker fleet, will be speaking in a session on the opening day of the conference – From Installation to Impact: Lessons Learned in Wind-Assisted Propulsion – clearly an area he can bring expert insight to.
With wind-assisted propulsion transitioning into operational deployment across commercial fleets, the session will take a technical look into the operational factors influencing real-world performance.
Buchhave will be joined by moderator Gavin Allwright, Secretary General of the International Windship Association, Will Hopes, Simulation & Performance Engineer at BAR Technologies, the Head of Performance at GT Wings, Jimmy Lirvat, and Josef Camilleri, Performance Analysis Manager at Anemoi.
A remarkable gathering of technical expertise combined with real-world experience, make this a session not to be missed. Click here to explore this opportunity at the 2026 Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference, 8-10 December, in Hamburg.
