Hagland exercises self-discharging bulker option

The new battery-hybrid vessel's design is expected to immediately lower CO2 emissions by over 40%, compared with existing tonnage.

Hagland Shipping has taken up an option for a further mini geared bulker at Royal Bodewes shipyard in the Netherlands. The 5,000 dwt newbuilding will be equipped with a shore power connection, and features a similar hybrid battery solution to the two preceding vessels in the series.
