Engineers meet deadline fixing bearing problem
Shanghai-headquartered Mariso demonstrated a quick response to owner’s needs when its repair team discovered a bearing problem during routine maintenance on a TC VTR 714 type turbocharger.
During a long holiday weekend the repair team arranged for the urgent delivery of two brand new bearings. Two of Mariso’s engineers took the 80kg bearing by plane from Shanghai to Guangzhou and then directly to the ship. Despite high temperatures, they worked over the weekend to fit the bearings in time to meet the ship’s tight departure schedule. Mariso has two turbocharger service stations, one in Shanghai, the other in Houston.
