    WinGD expects to claim ‘majority’ of QatarEnergy phase two engine orders


    WinGD is expecting to secure the majority of dual-fuel engine orders for LNG carriers being built in the second phase of QatarEnergy’s newbuilding project.     Nakilat has placed an order with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries for the construction of two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers and four 88,000cbm Very Large LPG/ Ammonia gas carriers on Tuesday, 9 January. The vessels are scheduled for delivery from the shipyard between 2026 and 2027.

    Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has announced that it plans to conduct a programme of main mover replacements for Moss-type LNG carriers within its fleet, substituting low pressure low speed dual-fuel engines for their current steam-turbines.
