    German federal funding for low-emission coaster newbuildings

    Shipowner Gerdes Green, a joint venture between Reederei Gerdes and Over-C, has received a grant from Germany’s Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport towards the cost of investment in sustainable innovations for a pair of coastal vessels.     Cargill opts for Danish voyage optimisation provider

    Cargill Ocean Transportation, the shipping arm of Cargill the international trading house, has signed a three-year contract with Denmark-based technology supplier ZeroNorth for vessel, voyage and bunkering optimisation software services.

    First methanol-fuelled bulkers for Cargill

    Cargill Ocean Transportation, the shipping arm of Cargill the international trading house, has confirmed plans to order 2 x dual-fuel Kamsarmax bulk carriers from Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in Japan. The order is the first for vessels equipped with engines capable of operating on methanol in the dry bulk segment.

    MR2 TANKER DESIGN FEATURES THREE 100-TON SAILS

    Shipowner Cargill has committed to a newbuilding project with wind technology company BAR Technologies and naval architect Deltamarin that will see three 45-metre tall WindWings, each weighing approximately 100 tons, fitted to the deck of a series of MR2 product tankers.
