Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems

A large vessel owned by COSCO Shipping will host a pilot installation of a new scrubber technology developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).

Just 750 ships would have scrubbers installed by 2020 if orders stopped today, according to figures compiled by class society DNV GL.

CR Ocean Engineering (CROE) will supply sulphur-emissions reducing exhaust gas cleaning systems for Songa Shipmanagement’s oil/chemical tankers and heavy-lift vessels.

Scrubbers that remove sulphur from exhaust gasses are one way of complying with the IMO’s global cap from 2020. Monitoring their performance is essential to compliance and should not be overlooked.
