IMO III gensets enter service

Fairplay Towage has brought one of the first IMO Tier III certified gensets into operation, installing Rolls-Royce’s MTU Series 4000 diesel engines with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) on a new harbour tug.

The new tug, with MTU Series 4000 diesel gensets, recorded NOx emissions 81% below IMO Tier II requirements
