New damper and coupling
Geislinger of Austria has announced two new products, the Vdamp XT and Genotorq, which will be exhibited at SMM in Hamburg. The two new items are targeted at power generation requirements in the maritime and offshore industry.
The Vdamp XT is an extended lifetime version of the existing Vdamp damper, claimed to give twice the service life at nearly the same size, thanks to an oil exchange system. Geislinger says that this will reduce maintenance requirements and downtime for onboard gensets, particularly as the Vdamp XT can be refurbished by Geislinger to provide a second dual cycle.
The modular Geislinger Genotorq coupling offers up to 64 kNm torque capacity and high over-torque capabilities. It is designed for radial installation with easily exchanged long life elastomer elements offering reduced maintenance. With different stiffness ratings and a range of connection interfaces, the coupling can be adapted to different applications.
