Wärtsilä 34DF engine certified for EPA Tier III

Wärtsilä’s 34DF has become the largest engine yet to be certified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as meeting the Tier III NOx standard.

Wärtsilä 34DF engines manufactured this year are covered by the first EPA Tier III certification awarded to a Category 3 (cylinder displacement more than 30 litres) engine
