CII REVIEW FOCUSES ON REDUCTION FACTORS AND FORMULA BASIS

The discussion around correction factors is relevant for the cruise sector and shuttle tankers, where even the most efficient DP2-class vessels spend a lot of time in dynamic positioning mode.

The IMO adopted a scheme for a Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) at MEPC76 in June, but discussions are underway that could soften the requirements for particular vessel types or operational profiles.
