Yara and Kongsberg to build electric container feeder

The Yara Birkeland is expected to be the first autonomous, all-electric container feeder and will begin plying the Norwegian coast late next year

Yara is to work with Kongsberg Maritime to build what the companies say will be the first all-electric container feeder vessel, sailing between Yara’s facilities in Porsgrunn, Brevik and Larvik in Norway.
