China starts small

The first small-scale LNG carrier in China, operated by CNOOC, is among the country's young but rapidly growing gas fleet

China’s strategy to develop the market for LNG as marine fuel may begin with smaller, inland vessels. But its ambitions are anything but, Dr Gan Shaowei, director of LNG at China Classification Society told delegates to the Asia Pacific Maritime conference.
