After a packed first day’s programme and an evening of networking, participants can look forward to technical presentations, case studies and panel discussions at the second day of P&E 2017 Martin Kroeger, managing director, VDR, picks up the mantle from day one chairman, Lars Robert Pedersen, who changes roles to start the day’s proceedings with a presentation on the forthcoming Ballast Water Convention, in which he will give operators a guide to the Convention and the challenges needed to be overcome before it comes into force later this year.

The Ballast Water session will be followed by a panel discussion, as will the subsequent sessions on Embracing hybridisation and Digital strategies for vessel and fleet optimisation.

The Conference will round off with a panel discussion in which members of CIMAC Working Group 10 give their feedback on ‘Emissions compliance: Operational experience and challenges’. Members of CIMAC Working Group 10 (engine users) will share their experiences of working with emissions abatement technologies and future environmental compliance challenges.
