Tier-III compliant gas engines chosen for LNG carriers

The IMO Tier-III compliant Wärtsilä 50DF engine features propulsion efficiency, low fuel consumption, and significant operating cost savings

Wärtsilä reports that it has been selected to supply a gas propulsion solution, involving four dual-fuel engines per ship, for a series of new LNG carriers to be built at the Samsung Heavy Industries yard in South Korea.
