Service for ABB turbochargers in Canada should benefit from expansion of the company's own network following the latest acquisition

ABB has acquired the turbocharging service activities of ABCO Industries, located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Prior to the acquisition, ABCO Industrial Equipment Group was the approved and licensed service station for ABB Turbocharging Service covering Atlantic Canada. ABB says that customers will now have direct access to ABB’s full range of turbocharger service offerings. The acquisition is being integrated into ABB in Canada’s turbocharging network, which also includes service centers in Dorval, Quebec and Burnaby, British Columbia.

The business will move into a larger facility with an expanded workshop outfitted with a full line of new service, tooling and test equipment, as well as spare parts inventory.

“We are delighted to add this well-managed business to ABB’s portfolio of offerings,” notes John Caron, head of ABB’s service business in Canada. “Over the years, ABCO has earned a reputation for providing superior service to its customers. Our goal is to build on this tradition of excellence by leveraging our global turbocharging capabilities as part of ABB’s global turbocharging service network.”

“I am confident that our customers will be well supported by ABB, an international company with a world-class reputation for technology and innovation,” adds John Meisner, president of ABCO Industries.” I know our skilled and dedicated team will continue to provide unparalleled support to Atlantic Canada customers.”

ABB says that it operates over 100 certified turbocharger service stations in more than 55 countries, ensuring that well-trained service and support staff are always close to our customers. ABB’s turbocharger service stations are linked via an online network to headquarters in Baden, Switzerland. Fast, direct access to the case history of more than 180,000 turbochargers ensures proactive support in real time. Spare parts can be identified, ordered and dispatched by the fastest means. The turbocharger service organisation is on call 24 hours a day.

The number of ABB turbochargers in operation, long term feedback and field experience accumulated through the ABB service network help customers to benefit from continuous product development and improvement.

ABCO produces a range of industrial and marine equipment for the Canadian market. In operation since 1947, it operates in five business arees: food machinery marine, environmental, industrial fabrication and industrial equipment.
