Monaco-based Compagnie Maritime Monégasque SAM (CMM) has received its first Damn platform supply vessel (PSV) 3300, ‘CMM Gravity’.

The 80m, 3,300 tonne vessel marks a step in CMM’s plans to expand in the offshore OSV sector and will be deployed in the Brazilian waters from June 2014 on contract with Petrobras.

“Our goal is to be a proactive service provider with a focus on the ever more demanding needs of our clients in conjunction with delivering quality and technical sophistication. We therefore have sought the added value of an experienced top-shelf shipbuilder,” Christophe Vancauwenbergh, president, CMM.

CMM Gravity features a 782m² deck with a 1,500 tonnes deck load capacity and extensive tank capacities to handle different types of fluids and bulk. It also has a bulb-less axe bow and a DP2 system which relies on four generator sets, two Azimuth thrusters and two bow thrusters.

The 14-knot vessel will be Lloyd’s Register classified for worldwide deployment.

This is Damen’s seventh deliver of its new mid-size PSV 3300 design, and the shipyard says it has further strengthened its position in the Brazilian offshore market.

“When CMM’s vessel will be deployed in June 2014, it will lift the number of Damen-designed Offshore Support Vessels operating for Petrobras in the Brazilian waters to over 20 vessels,” added Rutger Dolk, sales manager Americas, Damen.
