The provisional programme has been released for the Gas Fuelled Ships Conference 2012, organised by Mercator Media Ltd, which will take place from 12-14 September in Bergen, Norway.

Now in its third year, this year’s conference entitled, ‘The prospects for LNG as a maritime fuel for the future’, will feature presentations covering regulatory developments, operational experiences and expectations, availability, infrastructure, technology updates, design, safety and bunkering.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Kjell Sandaker, Eidesvik AS. Other speakers will include: The IGF Code by Turid B Stemre, Chair of the IGF Working Group and senior adviser to the Norwegian Maritime Authority; An ISO TC 67 report by Erik Skramstad, committee chairman, ISO TC 67 group and vice president, LNG segment at DNV and also; The role of LNG with the ECAs 2015, by Ong Lay Hwa, Shell Global Solutions International BV.

Included in the delegate fee is a place at the welcome reception which, this year, will take place at the Rolls-Royce Bergen engine plant. The welcome reception, the two day technical conference and the conference gala dinner plus technical visits are all included in the price.

The technical visits include observation of midnight bunkering procedures at the Halhjem Ferry Terminal and visits to the Coast Center Base (CCB) bunkering facility and the Kollsnes Gas Terminal and LNG Plant.
