Important contracts for TGE
TGE will supply gas systems for two LNG-fuelled ships to be operated by US company Crowley Maritime
TGE Marine of Germany has announced two important recent contracts for its LNG ship fuel gas supply systems.
The latest order is from Rolls-Royce Marine. TGE will design and supply an LNG fuel gas package destined for the conversion of an oil tanker. The scope of supply comprises engineering and delivery of two vacuum insulated LNG tanks, each of 150 m³ capacity, and the gas processing equipment needed to supply natural gas to the main engine.
TGE Marine CEO Manfred Küver said: “Having signed three further contracts for high pressure and low pressure LNG fuel gas systems in such a short period of time proves our ambition to become one of the leading contractors for medium to large size LNG fuel gas packages."
Contracts have additionally been signed for design and supply of high- and low-pressure LNG fuel gas packages, to be installed on the two LNG-fuelled two-stroke engine co-ro vessels to be built in the US for Crowley Maritime at the VT Halter shipyard.
These two orders, from engine supplier MAN Diesel & Turbo, include three 770 m³ vacuum insulated LNG storage tanks for each ship, plus high pressure/low pressure pumps, boil off gas compressors, vaporisers, utility and safety system as well as control and alarm systems.
"We receive more and more enquiries from the US, European and the Far East market for different kind of merchant vessels and believe that, with several announcements to invest in the LNG infrastructure for bunkering, this market will gain further momentum," added Mr Küver.
