LNT Marine offers IMO containment systems
LNT Marine will provide IMO type A and type C LNG containment systems and fuel tanks post-service integration.
The company has integrated its LNG tank system design with a range of marine insulation for tanks, cargo holds and pipes to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for containment systems and fuel tanks, as well as solutions for other cold temperature cargoes.
LNT Marine was formed following a merger between LNG New Technologies and MGI Thermo, which collaborated to develop IMO type A containment system LNT A-BOX, used as a foundation design for LNT Marine’s 45,000m3 LNG carrier-based LNT45 project.
LNT Marine CEO, Stein Foss, commented: “During our cooperation on the LNT45 project, it became clear that in order to continue optimising the design and further reduce the cost of our LNT A-BOX system, core competencies needed to be integrated under one roof.”
LNT45 is being built for Saga LNG Shipping at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) in Haimen, China.
Mr Foss added: “Now we can provide our customers with a more comprehensive containment system offering, in a simpler and more attractive structure for our clients and partners.”
LNT Marine aims to continue developing new LNG technology, become a turnkey supplier and grow the market share of the LNT A-BOX containment system.
Additionally, it will drive the development of the emerging mid-size LNG segment.
