DHL and Hapag-Lloyd target Scope 3 emissions

DHL Global Forwarding and Hapag-Lloyd have achieved a major milestone in their decarbonisation efforts with the inking of a three-year deal to reduce Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions through the use of sustainable marine fuels

The agreement enables significant well-to-wake CO2 reductions via second-generation biofuels produced from waste and residue feedstock.

In July 2025, the first order under this agreement, equal to 25,000 tonnes of CO2 reduction, was successfully executed.
